My Art Page:-pastels, watercolours and pencil.

Paintings&Drawings is an art page featuring my drawings, paintings and sketches done either with pastels, watercolours or pencils and sometimes a combination of those.

My name is Brian Gough and as you will have seen on the home page, I have been a musician almost all of my life, playing the guitar. This is the only form of art I have been involved in until a couple of months ago when I decided to try my hand at drawing and painting. I have become very keen now and hope that with time I can improve and build on whatever degree of talent I might possess. At this stage I have worked with pastels, watercolours and pencils as I wanted to see what I could do, but someday I would like to try oils.

To discover and to reveal is the basis of all art!

I have produced just a few works at this stage and wanted to add a page to my website where I could show my work to my visitors and perhaps invite comment or criticism, be it good or bad. I still have a very limited range of art utensils unfortunately, but I am slowly building up, so over time the situation will improve. Most of the pictures that I have done so far have been copying pictures from books or photographs that I have. A couple have been 'live'. There is a loss of quality having to scan the pictures in and also uploading them to the internet. Anyway here they are.

The Pastels:-The proud lion is a fellow in the Midlands Safari Park. The duck I saw down on our local river.

The watercolours:-

You will of course all know that the scene below is of Table Mountain in Cape Town which was where I was born and where we lived until five years ago. Below that I have put on a new one which is of Lake Windemere up in the lakes district. The other one is of Giraffs in the Midlands Safari Park.

That's all I've done so far but I will be putting on more of my work as and when I have something ready. I hope that the page does not take too long to load, but thank you for your patience if it did!

I sincerely hope and trust you have enjoyed your visit to the Gough info pages and will return again often. The pages will never be static but indeed I will endeavour to add to and develop them all the time. Please have a look around and do call again. If you have any comments please contact me.
